As more information is released and clarified regarding The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), the Department of Labor (DOL) has added several resources to its website. Visit https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/pandemic

Here are three links we thought you might find particularly useful:

A Fact Sheet from the Wage and Hour Division further explains the FFCRA  https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/pandemic/ffcra-employer-paid-leave
Please note, many of you have indicated a need to explore the exemption for employers under 50 where compliance would jeopardize the viability of your business. Please take the time to read this Fact Sheet.  Paid sick leave has several qualifying reasons in the new legislation and based on this release it appears only one reason is eligible for exemption.  Additional guidance on the potential for exemption is anticipated in April 2020.  Also on the DOL website are FAQs for this Fact Sheet.
